Community
Getting started with us is simple.
Before using our service, you will need to become a member, but don’t worry, membership is completely free.
You can apply by filling in the online membership form on the Services page of our website.
If you live in a rural area, you will need to register for our Dial-a-Lift service.
If you live in an urban area, such as Newry City, you will need to apply for DATS (Disability Action Transport Scheme).
If you are not sure which service applies to you, just get in touch and we will happily guide you through it.
Once your membership is approved, simply give us a call to book your trip and start enjoying our service.

Booking a trip is easy.
You can request a journey by clicking the ‘Request a Trip’ button at the top of our website and completing the online form.
If you would prefer to speak to someone, you can also give our team a call on 028 3026 5635 and we will be happy to arrange your trip for you.
We recommend giving us as much notice as possible, as this gives us the best chance of accommodating your journey.
Our services are here to help you stay connected, independent and active in your community.
You can use our transport for a wide range of journeys, including:

• Community activities and events

Our services are designed to be accessible and supportive for the local community.
Dial-a-Lift
Anyone can use our Dial-a-Lift service as long as they are a registered member. Membership is free and easy to apply for through our website.
We operate fully accessible minibuses fitted with ramps and passenger lifts, making them suitable for wheelchair users and for anyone who may struggle with steps when getting on and off the vehicle.
DATS (Disability Action Transport Scheme)
To use the DATS service, you must live in an urban area and meet at least one of the following criteria:
• Be registered blind
• Be aged 80 or over
• Receive the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance
• Receive the higher rate care component of Disability Living Allowance
• Receive the enhanced mobility rate of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Receive the higher rate care component of Attendance Allowance

We aim to keep our services affordable and accessible for everyone.
Dial-a-Lift and DATS journeys are charged at £0.50 per mile.
If you are a Dial-a-Lift member and hold a valid SmartPass, you can enjoy two free trips per week. Simply provide your SmartPass details when completing your membership form.
Group Hire
If you are booking transport for a group, we offer two options:
• £25 per hour – This includes the vehicle, driver and fuel.
• £20 per hour – If you would prefer to provide your own driver. Please note that your driver must hold a valid driving licence with D1 entitlement, and their details must be provided in advance.

If you need to cancel a booking, please let us know as soon as possible. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice, and the more notice you can give, the better.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a £10 cancellation fee.
Please note that repeated short notice cancellations may result in suspension from our services, as late cancellations can prevent other members from using the service.
If you need to cancel or amend a booking, please call us on 028 3026 5635 and our team will be happy to assist.
In some cases, yes, you may be able to travel outside the Newry and Mourne area.
This will depend on your destination and availability. Longer distance journeys are usually carried out by one of our volunteer drivers.
If you are planning a trip outside the area, please contact us in advance and we will let you know whether we can accommodate your journey.
Please note that we are not able to provide transport south of the border.
