2,252 Trips Connecting Our Community (June–August 2025)

This summer has been one for the books. From essential hospital appointments to weekly “big shop” runs and special day trips, We’ve been busy keeping people moving, linking communities to essential services and favourite spots across Newry & Mourne and beyond. Most importantly, your journeys helped reduce isolation, keep friendships flourishing, and make everyday life that bit easier.

Summer Trips (June - August)

  • 2,252 total trips delivered

  • 84 hospital & health appointments (≈ 3.7%) — Reliability matters when a hospital letter lands. We ensured people reached vital appointments on time and home again safely — reducing stress for service users and families alike.

  • 745 shopping trips (≈ 33.1%) — Our weekly Buttercrane runs were as popular as ever, alongside regular shopping journeys right across Newry and Mourne. We also organised special summer outings to Rushmere Shopping Centre and Bow Street Mall with the Cosy Club — great days out that combined practical errands with a good dose of craic.

  • 1,423 other trips (≈ 63.2%) — From coffee mornings and community groups to work commutes and local appointments, these trips kept people engaged with the activities that bring purpose, independence and joy. It’s the everyday journeys that often make the biggest difference in tackling isolation.

Why it matters

Local, door-to-door transport helps people stay independent, see friends and family, access services, and take part in community life. When transport is dependable and affordable, fewer people are left behind — especially in our rural areas.

A massive thank you 💚

To everyone who travelled with us this summer — thank you. We love what we do, and it’s a privilege to help you get out and about. Every booking supports our mission to reduce isolation and keep our communities connected. To our partners, volunteers and staff: your dedication keeps the wheels turning. Thank you for going the extra mile — often literally!

Looking ahead

What a fantastic summer it’s been. We’re excited to keep supporting you through the rest of 2025 with friendly, reliable community transport. Whether it’s the weekly shop, an appointment or a day out we have plenty more in store for the rest of 2025 so stay tuned!
