Getting around shouldn’t be a barrier to living independently — and that’s where the Disability Action Transport Scheme (DATS) comes in. In partnership with Disability Action, we support the delivery of this essential service, helping people who have limited mobility or access to public transport in urban areas.
Whether you're heading to a doctor’s appointment, popping to the hairdresser, planning a shopping trip to Buttercrane, or simply meeting friends at a local café, DATS is a reliable way to stay active and connected in your community.
What is DATS?
DATS is a door-to-door transport service designed for people who face challenges using public transport. It’s a flexible option that helps you get out and about with ease — ideal for everyday trips and important appointments alike.
Are You Eligible?
You may qualify for DATS if any of the following apply:
✅ You live in an urban area
✅ You are registered blind
✅ You are 80 years of age or older
✅ You receive any of the following allowances:
Disability Living Allowance – Mobility or Care component
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Attendance Allowance – Care component
How to Get Started
