Join Us for the Positive Ageing Celebration 2026

We are delighted to invite you to this year’s Positive Ageing Celebration, taking place on Thursday 1 October 2026 at The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry.
The event will be held in the old Debenhams unit from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Entry is completely free, and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the day.
A Day of Fun, Music & Dancing
The Positive Ageing Celebration is all about bringing people together, helping everyone stay active, connected and involved in their local community.
There will be a fantastic range of activities to enjoy throughout the day, including live music from Danny Doran and the U3A Choir. Whether you would like to get up and dance, sing along or simply sit back and enjoy the performances, there will be something for everyone.
The event will also be a wonderful opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and make some new friends! Some light refreshments will be avalible so you'll have a chance to sit down and relax with a brew and enjoy the firendly atmosphere.
Discover Support in Your Community
A number of local organisations and services will be attending the celebration to share useful information about the support available throughout the Newry and Mourne area.
You will have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives, ask questions and learn more about services that could make a positive difference to your day-
to-day life. Whether you are looking for advice for yourself, a family member or someone you care for, there will be plenty of helpful information available.
We'll Help you get to the Event
To make travelling to the celebration as easy as possible, Newry and Mourne Community Transport will be providing a free shuttle bus between Newry Bus Station and The Quays Shopping Centre.
The shuttle will run every 20 minutes throughout the event, allowing you to travel directly to the venue and enjoy everything the celebration has to offer.

Last year’s Positive Ageing Celebration was a huge success, with plenty of music, dancing, laughter and new connections made throughout the day. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another enjoyable celebration this October.
